Tim Gallaudet is a retired Rear Admiral and oceanographer who served in the U.S. Navy. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and both a master’s and a Ph.D. from Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
Dr. Timothy Gallaudet has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades in military service and government. He was the Oceanographer of the Navy and Commander of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command before transitioning to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). As Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere, he focused on advancing marine transportation, sustainable seafood production, and ocean exploration.
In addition to his military and NOAA roles, Gallaudet is an advocate for climate change awareness and marine resilience. He is also involved in initiatives related to the Blue Economy, aiming to enhance economic growth while preserving ocean health. His expertise extends to policy development for countering illegal fishing and assessing climate impacts on national security.
